Why I Write

Jeff Goins is a writer who has been very helpful to me (though he doesn’t know it.   He has written a couple of books that I’ve found to be very helpful.

He recently wrote a post on his blog called, “Why I Write.”   In it he urges people to share why they write.    So, I am.

I write for three reasons:

  1. I write because it helps motivate people to make a difference for the kids in Haiti.   If you want to read more about that, go to http://glahaiti.org/toms-make-a-difference to see more of that.
  2. I write because I believe that we’re all better off if we share life together.   There are too many people who are struggling quietly and feel like they are all alone.   By writing, I can help people not feel so alone.
  3. I write because it helps me figure out what I think.   As Flannery O’Conner said, “I write because I don’t know what I think until I read what I say.”

That’s just part of why I write.   I also write because life is never boring and there’s no shortage of material to write about.

Stay tuned and thanks for visiting…..

Life is Never Boring

But right now, this blog is.   I know that.  I’m going to start sharing my thoughts, ideas, activities, things I’ve read and things that matter to me as we walk through this life that God has given us.

Some of it will be fun, some of it will be hard, some of it will be deep and some of it will be shallow.

But it will all be thoughts from an ordinary guy.

A guy with a passion to write and a passion to see God at work.
