I was watching a TV show the other night when that phrase kept coming up again and again.   It was referring to classified government information and talking about how certain people at certain “pay grades” aren’t “high enough” to be able to have access to that information.

And then this morning, I was reading Job 21 as part of my personal devotions and I came across this passage:

“But who are we to tell God how to run his affairs?  He’s dealing with matters that are way over our heads.”

Essentially, Job is saying the same thing.   There are many things that we need to take on faith because we don’t know the answers.

Because the answers are way above our pay grade.

So, what do we do?   How do we live with many things, the many evils, the many tragedies in this world without knowing why?

We trust our eternal commander in chief, acknowledge that He is dealing with matters that are way over our heads and that He’s got it handled.

The information is way above our pay grade – so we trust and we do what we can to fight against those evils, those tragedies, those injustices in the world knowing that some day, in many cases when we get to heaven, the information will be de-classified and we’ll know and see God’s plan in all of it.

Right now it’s above our pay grade but that’s okay…….
