Psalm 84:10 (the Message) says, “I’d rather scrub floors in the house of my God than be honored as a guest in the palace of sin.”

Think about that one for a minute.    I’d rather scrub floors in the house of my God than be honored as a guest in the palace of sin…….

Is that literal or just ideological?

I think it can be both.    Literal – I’d rather scrub floors at church than be a big shot at the local casino.    I believe this should be a guide for grateful living.    Because we have been given much, we need to live as if we need nothing more than to push a broom in God’s house to be happy.

But also rhetorical – are we living our lives as if we are there to help?  Are we there to be behind the scenes and to leave things in a better way than when we came?

As you and I look at what God wants for us, remember, He said it’s better to scrub floors in God’s House than be a guest at a palace of sin………
